Lakesmere’s work on St Pancras Chambers Hotel has been selected as a finalist in the ‘vertical cladding’ category of the NFRC Roofing Awards.

The awards recognise and reward outstanding standards of workmanship and safety, with special recognition given to unusual and challenging initiatives.

Lakesmere supplied a prefabricated roof and wall zinc/timber structural insulated panel (SIP) off-site cladding system.

The bespoke solution – developed in conjunction with supply chain partner Hemsec, comprised an outer frame of FSC-certified timber board injected with polyurethane foam to produce rigid, storey-height panels.

The panels were then over-clad in a sustainable zinc finish from Roles Broderick to blend in with the facade of the original building. Once assembled, windows and trims were incorporated and each panel was then precisely craned into position over the top of the building.
