CLADDING & SHEETING offer hard metals in either their natural form or pre-weathered finishes. RCI: What other developments have been made in terms of laminates, treatments, shapes etc.? SW: Our manufacturer partners NedZink and KME offer a range of zinc composite materials so most shapes are now achievable in hard metal. RCI: Do you feel hard metals can define a building’s character more than other building materials? SW: Hard metals definitely enhance the appearance of a building. They define its line and form, and really do showcase quality workmanship. We’re associate members of the FTMRC and support the development of traditional metal roofing skills. RCI: We’ve seen some interesting projects utilising copper shingles recently. What other trends are you seeing in the market in terms of colour etc.? SW: Both zinc and copper shingles have become very popular. We also offer a new range of rainscreen options which offer exceptional panel flatness. RCI: Can you tell us a bit about your new elZinc offering? SW: We have recently partnered with elZinc to exclusively supply their range of pre-weathered, colour products called the elZinc Rainbow range which complements our existing NedZink offer. Manufactured from elZinc slate by applying mineral pigments, the Rainbow range is available in several pigmented colours: red, blue, green, black, gold and brown. SW: Two flagship projects of note are The Imperial Tobacco HQ in Bristol where we installed KME Proteus flat panels with rainscreen protection.
