INSULATION Isover provides Clean Growth solution RCIMAG.COM FEBRUARY 2018 061 Zink Copper Stainless 01992 801927 www.almhm.co.uk New Aluthermo RoofRefl ex underlay from Novia Kent-based building membrane specialist Novia has launched Aluthermo RoofRefl ex, a unique insulated breathable underlay solution for use within roof and wall constructions. RoofRefl ex further complements Novia’s product range which includes Vapour Control Layers, Vapour Permeable Membranes, Gas Barriers and BS 1521 Building Papers. Aluthermo RoofRefl ex is manufactured from Novia’s highspecifi cation Refl ex membrane, which is their CE-approved low emissivity breathable membrane for roofs and walls. Novia Refl ex is laminated to a 37mm thick polyester insulation layer, which is produced from recycled water bottles, to make the fi nal Aluthermo RoofRefl ex membrane. RoofRefl ex is made by its insulation partner Aluthermo SA, who are based in Belgium. This new product reportedly provides a core thermal resistance of 1.00 m2.K/W, which is said to be ideal for topping up other insulation systems to provide further reduced U values. RoofRefl ex also provides thermal resistance benefi ts of up to an additional 0.47 m2.K/W, by virtue of its low-emissivity surface. The same low emissivity surface will also keep structures cooler in the summer months. Aluthermo RoofRefl ex is a highly cost-effective add-on insulation product, and when installed in combination with mineral wool insulations there are said to be cost savings of up to 50% available, when compared to equivalent PIR/PUR installations. The product also comes with an EN 13501-1 fi re classifi cation rating of E, and is even said to improve the overall acoustic performance of the building. Architects and designers can specify Aluthermo RoofRefl ex via NBS Plus software. www.novia.co.uk With the government recently announcing an investment of more than £2.5 billion into clean technologies and new infrastructure, Isover’s ULTIMATE range will reportedly help designers, operators and contractors save up to 25% in energy costs – allowing them to cut carbon emissions in line with the Clean Growth Strategy. One of the main challenges industrial plants have is the need to limit energy-waste during operations, while lowering the carbon footprint. With this in mind, Isover’s ULTIMATE range is a mineral wool insulation, which has been specifi cally designed for industrial applications, working in high temperatures of up to 700°C. Its patented construction is said to deliver excellent thermal performance in a thinner, lighter material, offering the fl exibility to simply replace traditional stone wool specifi cations in a power plant, with the same thickness of ULTIMATE to reduce the carbon footprint and save up to 25% of energy. Rob Taylor, UK specialist insulation sales manager at Isover, said: “The ULTIMATE range delivers an array of benefi ts to industrial plants and operations; it can be used in a variety of applications from vessels and tanks to production and process equipment.
