Sanderoof were short-listed for the NFRC’s Roofing Awards in the Single Ply category, thanks to an installation at All Hallows Church, Cheadle. The NFRC presented the event, which took place at the Novotel London West hotel in Hammersmith and was presented by ITV''s Mary Nightingale. For the UK roofing industry, it was an opportunity to recognise and reward outstanding roofing projects and Sika-Trocal licensed contractor, Sanderoof, made a contribution to the high standards set in the Single Ply category.
The job had particular technical difficulties with the top half of the installation, incorporating eight triangles from four sides of the church steeple with the respective hips meeting into lower valley sections. The job was completed using Sika-Trocal Type SX 2mm membrane in a specially ordered white colour, along with the matching SE profile which was welded on top to create a standing seam feature.
Gavin Greaves, contract manager at Sanderoof, concluded: “It was a unique and challenging project, which gave us the opportunity to show off our capabilities and those of Sika-Trocal. We’re already looking for our next challenging project and hope to go one better in 2011. Maybe we should look at St Paul’s Cathedral.”
