The extension of a London primary school was approved thanks, in part, to the inclusion of a SarnaVert living roof from Sarnafil.Holy Trinity Church of England School’s proposed extension to its Cadogan Gardens site was subject to stringent conservation area planning issues, so NBF Partnership architects incorporated the green roof into its proposals to help the building blend into the area.
Sarnafil-registered contractor, Cambridge Polymer Roofing (CPR), installed the 150m2 SarnaVert roof, with planting completed by Blackdown Horticultural Consultants.
Nick Viscusi, of main contractor Priory Gate, said: “Making a building of this size as unobtrusive as possible is no small task, so it’s great that the team achieved a suitable, cost-effective solution through the design and development process.
“The speed of installation and long life of the SarnaVert system certainly played their part, with the subsequent use of a Sarnafil membrane on an exposed kitchen extension roof further testament to this.”
