Moore control

Steve MooreRegional Building Control (RBC) appointed Steve Moore as building control surveyor for the North West region. This is the latest appointment by RBC as it looks to consolidate its standing as one of the UK's leading Building Regulations Approved Inspectors.

Steve, 38, has more than 20 years of experience within the construction industry and his expertise spans both the public and private sectors. His current projects with RBC include a new hospital in Liverpool; a new oncology unit in Wirral; a high profile supermarket and a police headquarters in Merseyside.

He said: "I joined RBC because it's a forward-thinking Approved Inspector with exciting and interesting projects. It has a collaborative approach to projects, identifying potential problems at the planning stage and seeks cost-effective building engineer solutions, which saves time and money for everyone concerned. I'm really enjoying my new position and I'm delighted to be working with such a dedicated professional team."

Steve, from Liverpool, started his career as a surveyor with Riverside Housing Association before moving on to become a District Building Control Officer with Sefton Metropolitan Council. He then made the move to the private sector as a project manager in the North West for a national Approved Inspector. Steve returned to the public sector in 2008 and joined RBC from Slough Borough Council.

James Tutton, area manager for RBC, says: "We're delighted to welcome Steve to our team. His experience in the public and private sectors across healthcare, education, residential, office and leisure means he's in very good company with the rest of our experienced team."

Collectively, the RBC team has more than 500 years experience in identifying and solving Building Regulation problems and has worked on projects totalling over £7 billion. With its head office in Waltham Abbey, RBC has nationwide coverage through regional offices in Cheadle Hulme (Manchester), London, Newbury, Havant, Derby, Birmingham and a network of professionals throughout England and Wales.
