Jump on boardNHBC has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors – Greg Fitzgerald, CEO of Galliford Try, and Bridget McIntyre, former UK CEO of RSA Insurance Group.

Greg brings a wealth of construction industry experience, having become MD of Midas Homes aged just 31. Once the firm was acquired by Galliford Try in 1997, Greg was instrumental in the development of the group’s expertise in conversions, brownfield development and affordable housing.

Greg became MD of Galliford Try’s entire Housebuilding Division in 2003 and was appointed CEO in 2005, leading the Group into the top ten of UK contractors and housebuilders with a market capitalisation of over Ł250 million.

Bridgete’s career began on the graduate trainee scheme at insurance firm Willis Faber, moving on to senior accountancy roles at a variety of prominent businesses, including Harper Collins, Volvo and Aviva. Bridget joined RSA Insurance Group in 2005, where she led the UK business and was part of a group executive team that consistently achieved profitable growth through a customer-driven strategy.

Bridget has substantial experience in the insurance industry and in the management of risk. She retired from RSA Insurance Group in 2008 to pursue a career as a consultant and portfolio non-executive director.

On the appointments Sir John Carter, NHBC’s chair, said: “We are extremely pleased to have Greg Fitzgerald and Bridget McIntyre on our Board. Both are extremely accomplished in their fields and will provide expert insight to help the Board guide the organisation through the challenges and changes of today’s home-building environment.”

Greg said: “The services provided by NHBC have played a vital role in the raising of standards in house-building in the UK and I am greatly looking forward to contributing to this important work as it develops into the future.”

Bridget said: “NHBC plays an important role in providing protection to new homeowners in the UK. I'm very much looking forward to joining the board of NHBC and supporting the work of the organisation.”
