Galician and Spanish Slate is a multi-platform initiative that has been created to inform UK specifiers about the origins, characteristics and long tradition of natural roofing slate manufacture in the northern slate producing regions of Spain.

The initiative promotes Spanish slate through a variety of media, including a new website, www.spanishslateuk.com.

One of the key features of the website is the stockist search facility, which enables customers to locate their nearest distributor using a postcode or town, and all stockists within a 20-mile radius are listed with full contact details, including address, telephone, email and website. An interactive map assists in locating individual stores.

As well as searching for their nearest stockist, visitors to the website can request literature, obtain advice, organise a CPD, and post their views and ideas on what would help them specify natural slate.

Offering a range of advice and information on the cultural and historical origins of slate, regional and technical characteristics and geological factors, the site also gives guidance on the quality controls and international standards that apply to natural slate and its supply.
