FLAT ROOFING ADVERTORIAL
Seal it with the next generation
hybrid roofi ng membrane
Football or Rugby Union? Wine or spirits? Horse racing or Formula 1? Everyone has their favourites, and in
the roofi ng industry the same can be said for choosing the right product, as Bond It highlights below
Although there are many
roofi ng and weatherproofi ng
compounds on the market,
most roofi ng contractors have
a favourite product they use time after
time. Part of the reason for this is that all
compounds appear to do more or less the
To ensure the right product is used
for the right installation, a number of
factors have to be considered. How damp
is the installation and will it be prone to
water retention? How long does it take
for the product to cure to become
resistant to water and moisture?
With roofi ng applications, weather
is always an unknown quantity and
can often lead to roofi ng installations
failing because of too much H2O. It’s not
always possible to cover a roof in time
to protect it from the elements, and we
cannot control the weather to give us
consecutive days of sunshine.
Other factors include: What materials
are involved in the installation – will
the surface requiring priming allow the
compound to adhere? Also, how fl exible
is the material? If prone to movement,
then a product needs to be used that will
give with oscillation and will not break
down or crack.
Ventilation will also have a bearing
on the product specifi cation. In areas of
poor ventilation, high volatile organic
compound (VOC) products can cause
irritation, and in extreme cases, nausea,
and dizziness to the applicator, as well as
subsequent residents. This is particularly
important with sensitive installations
where lingering solvent smells will not
meet health and safety requirements.
There are many things to consider
when choosing the right product, but
with the Bond It Seal It One Coat Room
Membrane weatherproofi ng, situations
are made easy and come with added
The Seal It Liquid Membrane is an
easy to apply one coat roof seal that offers
a modern alternative to traditional GRP,
PU, silicone, and bitumen roof coatings.
Guaranteed for 25 years, it is a highly
refl ective, solvent-free, non-fl ammable
liquid membrane, that is formulated for
professional roofi ng applications and
requires no special training to apply.
Designed to be used on its own, it can,
however, in more demanding situations,
be used in conjunction with a primer,
accelerator, reinforcement mat and
edging and trimming sealer.
The Seal It One Coat Room Membrane
• Seal It Liquid Membrane - A ‘one coat
roof seal’, professional grade hybrid roof
coating that is available in either white
or grey. Solvent-free and non-fl ammable,
it provides outstanding water resistance,
weather proofi ng characteristics and selflevelling
properties, and is crack bridging,
non-shrinking and non-cracking.
• Seal It Primer - A one-part solvent-free
primer for preparation of bitumen surfaces
and roofi ng.
• Seal It Reinforcing Mat - A high grade
100% polyester fabric which is non-woven
and spunbonded to o er reinforcement
to blisters, splits, seams, details, joints and
penetrations, o ering twice the strength
once incorporated. It is Ideal for areas that
are subject to high movement and is tear
and puncture resistant.
• Seal It Cracks & Edging Sealer - A hybrid
polymer sealer that is suitable for fi lling
cracks, edges, details and small gaps prior
to application of Seal It Liquid Membrane.
Alternatively, it can also be used after
a Seal It Liquid Membrane application
to secure edgings and seals to create a
self-terminating fl ashing or provide extra
protection around roof elements such as
chimneys, air vents, etc.
• Seal It Accelerator - For colder climates,
where the air temperature can a ect the
cure process, Seal It Accelerator can be
mixed with the Seal It Liquid Membrane
to speed up drying rates. When used in
conjunction with the Seal It Accelerator,
Seal It Liquid Membrane will withstand
temperatures down to -20oC.
offers a primer with less adhesion on
a wide variety of building and roofi ng
surfaces without the need for heating
or bonding. Ideal for repairing fl at
roofs and pitch roofs (less than 10º), it
creates an impermeable seal to repel
water damage and provides resistance
to degradation from natural weathering
like rain, snow, and sunlight.
Remaining permanently fl exible once
cured, it will not harden or soften, even
under extreme weather, temperature, UV
radiation and external chemical attack. It
also offers excellent resistance to ageing,
ultra-violet attack and discolouration.
