Paul Shepherd, national sales manager at BeA, explained: “Today’s contractor involved in roofi ng, cladding and many other areas of construction, demands gas powered nailers that work as hard as they do. “Frequently, gas fuel cells can be a weak link in an otherwise robust chain and our new products aim to overcome that. We have gone to great lengths to develop cells that users can count on for optimum reliability, time after time after time.” Offering exceptional levels of compatibility and suitable for use in gas powered nail guns from most well-known manufacturers, the new BeA fuel cells employ a propane and butane mix, alongside an enhanced cell design. This enables them to deliver consistent, dependable performance – driving up to 1,200 fasteners, cleanly and effi ciently, from every cell. Their long lifespan also helps to reduce stoppages 082 FEBRUARY 2018 RCIMAG.COM for fuel cell changes, enabling users to save time and maximise productivity. Plus, the new cells perform better in the cold whilst the gas formula employed helps to minimise exhaust gas emissions, contributing to a cleaner and more comfortable working environment. As a further benefi t, the new BeA fuel cells also incorporate a synthetic oil. This enables them to lubricate the tool in which they are used and to reduce carbon deposits. This again contributes to reduced misfi res and helps to increase the tool’s effectiveness and overall working life. Paul concluded: “BeA has an active programme of new product research and development and our next generation of gas fuel cells have been created as a result of that and following feedback from our stockists and end-users. “We’ve listened to the market’s needs, understood its expectations and developed a product which we believe exceeds them by setting new standards in performance and reliability.” Paving the way for screw quality TIMco, the independent supplier of screws, fi xings and power tool accessories, says that its C2 range of Advanced Woodscrews offers 43% Tquicker screw time, and half the torque of other screws on the market he C2 range of Advanced Woodscrews from TIMco has evolved and developed from the core features of the company’s Classic screw, the multi-purpose screw, which has sold over 4.8 billion to date. The C2 Multi-Purpose Advanced Woodscrews are manufactured using state-of-the-art machinery to create screws that give precise and positive drive control on every screw. The screws are also coated with high-molecular polymer lubricants which reduce insertion torque by 52%, and offers protection against rust 20 times longer than a standard zinc plated screw. The range also boasts twin-cut technology, which is a patented method of manufacturing that applies cuts to the screws in exactly the same position and angle, every time. The cuts are specifi cally positioned to deliver a consistent performance in multiple materials from a range of woods to sheet metal and plastics. TIMco provides extensive tests on its products, including torque tests and salt sprays tests. Tests on the C2 exterior Multi-Purpose Screw and the C2 Timber Screw, which are salt spray tested for 1,000 hours with a level three corrosion rating, mean that the outdoor screws are suited to urban and industrial areas with a salt atmosphere. Other screws in the range including the Multi-Purpose Advanced, C2 Flooring and C2 Tongue-Fix Screws provide users with the ability to select the right C2 screw from the range to meet the job in hand. Simon Midwood, managing director of TIMco, believes that the innovations built into the range deliver real benefi ts to users, while offering them the highest quality in woodscrews. From fl ooring to decking screws, the robust Advanced Woodscrew range has the same C2 quality throughout with twin-cut tips and ribs under the head to improve countersinking, as wells as a deep recess to prevent ‘cam-out’.
