RAINWATER SYSTEMS Alumasc Rainwater’s Skyline fascia soffit system has been specified for a roof refurbishment at St. Cuthbert Mayne School in Torquay. St. Cuthbert Mayne is a comprehensive school for 11-18 year-olds and the new roofing system formed part of an extensive refurbishment, which also included the construction of a new £1.6million classroom block. Alumasc says its fascia soffit system features edge details to suit all designs and budgets. For this project, the Bullnose design was specified by architects Kensington Taylor, on behalf of Torquay Education Authority, and was installed by Alumasc Rainwater’s approved contractor, Kingswood of Devon, around the canopies at the school entrances, providing a clean appearance requiring minimal maintenance. Skyline offers fabricated fittings which are mitred, welded and have a smooth finish. Its linear components are jointed by internal brackets, avoiding stepped joints. Manufactured from high quality, polyester powder coated aluminium, the range is available in four generic shapes with bespoke designs available to order. The product has a thirty-year life expectancy, with all processes controlled under ISO9001 & ISO14001 Quality and Environmental Management Systems. To further strengthen the Skyline range, Alumasc Rainwater offers technical services to benefit specifiers, architects and installers. Support ranges from design ideas and cost effective solutions to detailed CAD drawings, bespoke schemes and full calculations for rainwater and supporting structure capacity. Lead times for the range have also been improved from 25 working days to ten, as part of Alumasc’s continuing review of its service provision. In support of this, a new role has also been created to ensure the efficient delivery of Skyline products and services to the building industry.
