Chris Ibbotson retired from the business at the end of March after 15 years’ loyal service. During his time with BeA, Chris worked as a member of the company’s nationwide, field-based sales force as a technical sales representative. Responsible for a territory that covered West Yorkshire and neighbouring areas of North Yorkshire and Lancashire, the company says Chris played a vital role in helping customers to benefit from BeA’s range of products. Over the course of his career with BeA, Chris became a well-known figure across a diverse customerbase that includes builder’s merchants, volume housebuilders and large construction businesses. www.bea-group.com/bea/uk BEA bids farewell Monier Redland has recruited Neil Gregory to the post of industrial director to take charge of all six UK manufacturing plants. Neil comes to Redland from a group called Essentra which he joined when he graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Materials Engineering in 2003. He rose from being a process engineer to becoming manufacturing director in his 13 years with the company. Essentra produced very different products – from cigarette filters to printed packaging for the food industry – but Neil says the fundamental disciplines of manufacturing and operational management are very similar. He commented: “It’s great to join a business that’s growing organically and where the challenge is ramping up production to meet market demand. For anyone in production that’s a perfect problem to have.” www.redland.co.uk A renewed approach As part of the long-term development of JET-Group, a change in the company’s management has taken place. Eric Pans, who has been CEO for ten months will hand over his responsibilities to Ralf Dahmer. The company says Dahmer has many years of international sales experience in the building technology industry and has been involved in managing various companies. In his new role Dahmer will continue to establish the company’s implemented strategy and drive the development of daylight and ventilation products as well as the internationalisation and digitalisation of the company. He commented: “JET-Group offers very positive potential for future development, given its products and service as well its employees. I look forward to tackling this challenging and very interesting task.” www.jet-group.com New Jet-Group CEO Actis has given directorships to two members of its senior team. Architect and former technical manager Thomas Wiedmer has been made UK and Ireland technical director, while regional sales manager Mark Cooper becomes national sales director for the UK and Ireland. The promotions follow the departure of UK and Ireland director Matthew King who, after eleven years at Actis, will be moving into another area of the wider construction industry. Mark will oversee the commercial side of the Actis operation in the UK and Ireland while Thomas will direct the technical elements of the business. Thomas has been a senior member of the UK Actis technical team since 2014, while Mark has worked within the commercial arm for nine years. www.insulation-actis.com Double direction A Keane start for SMD Whitesales has announced the appointment of Rob Hamblen to the position of sales & marketing director.
